Building in Public: Our Approach to Transparent Product Development
We're sharing our thinking, progress, and setbacks as we build infrastructure for marketing strategy. Here's why transparency matters for tools that claim to augment intelligence.
We're building Testbed in public. Not as a marketing tactic — as a design principle. Tools that claim to augment intelligence should be built with a corresponding level of intellectual honesty.
Why transparency matters for infrastructure
Marketing strategy tools ask practitioners to trust their outputs with real business decisions. That trust has to be earned, not assumed. Building in public means sharing our methodology before the product is polished. It means publishing our thinking on structure and traceability while the workflow engine is still in alpha.
It also means being honest about what we don't know yet. Early testing with strategy consultants has validated the five-step framework. It hasn't yet validated every edge case in competitive analysis or brand audit automation. We share both.
Stealth mode makes sense for consumer apps. For infrastructure that practitioners will stake decisions on, opacity is a liability.
What we'll share
Product progress, methodology refinements, and honest assessments of what's working and what isn't. These writings are part of that commitment. Updates on the homepage track milestones. Essays go deeper on the thinking behind the system.
If you're building in a similar space — or evaluating whether Testbed fits your team's workflow — we'd rather you understand our approach fully than discover it after onboarding.
